The Soldiers Table Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.

The Soldiers table includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).

What Defines the Soldiers Table

Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where diplomatic options are scarce.

Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the actions of episode 3 show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Reasons to Leave

To begin with, the party understands precisely where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the antagonists.

A former ally of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the story’s plot—exploited the enemy for his personal gain, invading the secret base, striking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.

Casimir then settled his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Secondly, each member has a personal reason to depart Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
  • The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous location.
  • The strong character and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their position as important members in House Halovar could enable the team reach areas they usually can’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.

Fugitives

Lastly, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
  • The target is marked for death by the family.

This results in them few options but to head to the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
